Happy Squares was founded in 1969 and is currently celebrating its 50th year of dancing.(We turned 51 in March 2020!) Happy Squares is a member of Associated Square Dancers, an organization of square dance clubs throughout Southern California.
We have an active membership and enjoy a variety of group activities outside of square dancing as well.
It's not what you learned in grade school!
Square dancing has been around a long time, and like most things it has changed and evolved over time. Today's modern square dancing may have its foundations in "old time barn dances" but the calls and the music are modern. We think you'll be surprised at how much fun you can have!
Beginner Dance Classes
Happy Squares offers Beginner Dance Classes every year starting in September. It's fun and easy to learn and yes, it's really good aerobic exercise! Not that we're pushing exercise - but if you want to have fun while doing your heart some good - square dancing is it!

Happy Squares are pleased to announce that Patti Nicassio and Tim Palmer have been selected as our 2020 Sweethearts and will represent the Happy Squares at the A Square D Sweetheart Ball in February 2020.
